Cork X southwest - Supporting Local Charities

By supporting Cork X Southwest 2011 you will also be supporting some very worthy local and international charities

We are delighted to support three special local and one international charity at this year’s festival. All of these organisations do amazing work in their fields and provide valuable and life-saving support to thousands of people. All will have a presence at the festival to discuss their work so please drop by and say hello and support them as generously as you.

The Baltimore Lifeboat is part of the RNLI.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institute is a charity that saves lives at sea. There are 233 Lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland, 55 of which are based on the island of Ireland. The RNLI provides on call, 24-hour lifeboat service to cover search and rescue up to 100 nautical miles off the coast of Ireland. The crews are made up of volunteers from all walks of life that give up their time and comfort to carry out rescues and train for them, in difficult and often dangerous conditions.
The Baltimore Station, provides a service in the waters between Galley Head and Mizen Head, encompassing the Island communities of Cape Clear, Sherkin, Heir and Long Islands and the well known and loved Fastnet Lighthouse. http://www.baltimorelifeboat.ie/

Lamh_HealingLogoThe Lámh Healing Foundation was established in 2009
The Foundation is committed to the healing of childhood abuse through acceptance, tolerance, awareness and forgiveness, by providing a safe haven where people who have in any way been connected with or been affected by Institutional/Clerical and childhood sexual abuse can access a peaceful, safe environment to help them move forward and away from the pain and suffering and ultimately to ‘let go’ of the past. http://www.lamhhealingfoundation.com/

Feileacain is a newly formed charitable organisation whose aims are to provide support to parents bereaved through stillbirth or neonatal death.
Our trained volunteers provide support groups; help lines, training and support in the local area as well as research into the causes of prenatal death.  We provide information to the maternity hospitals for parents on how to cope with post mortems and funerals and also provide Memory Boxes (see website) to help parents create memories that will be precious in the years ahead. http://www.feileacain.ie/
