Fred, a five piece band from Cork released an EP titled Fred in 2000 and a debut album Can’t Stop, I’m Being Timed in 2002.

In 2004, Fred released the single October, which was taken from their second album Making Music So You Don’t Have To and in 2005 two more singles Summer’s Coming and Four Chords and the Truth were taken from the album and released.

Fred’s third album Go God Go recorded in Love Tap Studios, Cork and mixed by Mark Wallis was released on R.C.M Music, the bands own label in 2008. The album spent a total of two weeks on Ireland Albums Top 75 and the singles Skyscrapers, Running and The Lights, all feature on this album and were also released in 2008.

The band was nominated in the Hope for 2009 category at the Meteor Awards, and in this same year they were the first band to play at the renovated Thomond Park in Limerick.

Most recently in 2010, Fred released the single Trial by Fire from their soon to be released fourth album Leaving My Empire
