Michael McGoldrick is a founding member of Irish folk rockers Toss The Feathers. In 1995 McGoldrick won BBC Radio 2 Young Tradition Award and in this same year he founded Flook! Just one year later in 1996 he released his debut solo album Morning Rory. In 1997 he joined Cappercaillie contributing on the track Farewell To Whalley Range. Remaining part of the band he also joined Kate Rusby’s band in 1997 and in 2002 became a founding member of the Manchester act The Reel & Soul Association. Most recently he has won BBC Folk Awards Instrumentalist of the Year 2001 and Artist of the Year 2005.
